PALMDALE, Calif. — Three people were injured after a shooting at a pool party in the Antelope Valley Friday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies from the department’s Palmdale Station responded shortly before 6:30 p.m. to reports of gunfire in the 2200 block of East Old Harold Road in Palmdale.
Authorities said a pool party was taking place when a male suspect arrived at the location and allegedly began firing into the crowd.
Three victims, including two juveniles and one adult, suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to a hospital for treatment. Officials said their injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
Investigators said the shooting may have been a random attack, though a motive has not been confirmed. The suspect remains at large as authorities continue working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation and is asking anyone with information about the shooting or the suspect to come forward.
